The Tagish Community Church of the Nazarene meets once a month; on the third Sunday of each month at 4:00 pm at the Tagish Community Hall.
While we do take our time together seriously, we are a relaxed group. Services are rather informal. Enjoy the music, hear the Word of God, and be encouraged by others. In the winter, you could expect some hot soup served up after the service.
Come as you are. Be yourself. All are welcome!
OUR NEXT SERVICE... will be February 16 at 4:00 pm.
What Can You Expect?
You can expect a relaxed atmosphere in all our services. You can come as you are. Services are open to everyone. You will find joyful gospel singing, Biblical preaching and great fellowship. Services are generally one hour in length, followed by a coffee and refreshment time.
Who We Are
The Tagish Community Church is a ministry of the Whitehorse Church of the Nazarene. The Church of the Nazarene was started in Whitehorse in 1958 and formally organized in 1963. Pastor Norman and Heather Hajian came to the Yukon to "fill in" for the church during the summer of 1986. In 1987, after graduating from Nazarene Theological Seminary, Norman and Heather came back to pastor the Whitehorse Church of the Nazarene and have been serving there since. Their four children have all been born and raised in the Yukon. Having purchased some property in Tagish, and with a growing interest in reaching out into the communities, Pastor Norman and the church board agreed that we should focus in on ministry in Tagish, as we did not know of any formal services being held there.
The Tagish Community Church began in May 2010, with services being held in the home of Myron & Shelley Penner. With a desire to be more accessible to the community, in October 2015 we have begun to meet at the Tagish Community Centre. Services continue to be held the third Sunday night of each month and are hosted by the Penner Family.
When Do You Meet?
We meet the third Sunday night of each month at the Tagish Community Centre. Services are held at 4:00 pm.
